Breaking News! What is "#Emergency2012"? One should wonder. Well, this the trend going on Twitter after the government has blocked the accounts of some journalists on the microblogging site to prevent the online campaign of misinformation. The government has reportedly blocked at least 20 Twitter accounts, including those of two journalists.
?
The blocking seems to be partial, as they are not accessible only if one uses "http" to see the pages. If you use https, you can still view those accounts. The blocked accounts show the message: "This website/URL has been blocked until further notice either pursuant to Court orders or on the Directions issued by the Department of Telecommunications". The BJP was quick to condemn the action taken by the government.
